  First of all I would like to make it clear that I had no problem with the length of time I had to wait, as that was explained when I made my initial call to the surgery, and I do appreciate the pressures the GP's are working under. However, I feel we should all be treated courteously whatever the circumstances, particularly when the circumstances are due to staff error. To elucidate, I telephoned the surgery in the morning with symptoms I'd had for 3 weeks and which were not abating. I was given a time to attend that same morning but warned that the Doctor would endeavour to see me within 90 minutes. I attended at the appointed time and booked in on the computer at the entrance and was provided with the name of the doctor I was to see. After waiting almost the 90 minutes I was ecstatic to see my name on the screen in the waiting area informing me to go to room 15. I knocked on the door but heard nothing. Being slightly deaf I pushed the door open a couple of inches and introduced myself with a 'hello'. The door was then slammed shut and opened again very slightly. From this small gap I was snarled at to go away and speak to reception. I immediately felt humiliated and as per human nature tried to apologise to explain that the obvious mistake was not mine. This resulted in louder snarling from the small gap reiterating the instruction. Now utterly mortified, as well as still feeling ill, I made my way back to reception. I explained the situation to a gasp of horror from the receptionist once she realised the veracity of my information. Unfortunately I have no idea what she was going to say as the doctor I was actually supposed to see, rather than the doctor I was told I was going to see, came into the waiting area looking for me. This doctor was concerned, caring and courteous despite having had to come and look for me and, I assume, with a workload similar to that of his snarling colleague. He would rate 5 stars so my review does not reflect upon him but solely on the humiliation and incompetence I experienced.

  I hate going to the Doctors. Walked in - booked myself in on the automated system, was greeted politely by the receptionist, sat down. Fidgeted nervously. Shuffled around on my seat nervously and then got a buzz to say I was next. Considered running but too many people where watching. Went in to my appointment - Early - and a young lady called Amanda sat me down and i was out in minutes. Amanda was amazing very polite - very professional, and made me feel at ease.... all that for a poxy glucose test, which had me fretting all weekend, but wow she really made it easy. I just felt it would be good to share a positive. felt cared about and looked after - thank you Stokewood.
